More about this product

Dyson DC05, DC07, DC08

This is a high quality compatible, alternative product. It is designed to provide you with an alternative working solution to the genuine original equivalent. This alternative choice is reflected in all our compatible parts and accessories offering you a cost saving against the original product. All manufacturers’ names and numbers used for reference purposes only.

In 1978, James Dyson became frustrated with his vacuum cleaner’s diminishing performance. Taking it apart, he discovered that its bag was clogging with dust, causing suction to drop. He’d recently built an industrial cyclone tower for his factory that separated paint particles from the air using centrifugal force. But could the same principle work in a vacuum cleaner? He set to work. Five years and 5,127 prototypes later, he had invented the world’s first bagless vacuum cleaner.

We always supply quality motor carbon brushes with three key features:

1. Our motor carbon brushes are made with the grade of carbon that was originally specified by the original manufacturer for the particular application. Why is the grade important? Because the grade chosen is dictated by the speed of the motor; e.g. high speed motors on upmarket machines are usually a higher grade.

2. Whenever available, our motor carbon brushes are manufactured with sandwich laminated construction (some of our competitors are still using block carbon). Why is the lamination important? Because it actually disperses the heat which is created by motor operation, preventing consequential arcing and early burn-out.

3. Our brush holders are always made from flame-retardant plastic. Even if overheating occurs when one of our brushes has been fitted, fire risk is minimized.
